Sharing The Photo Love

Like most couples, we’re incredibly excited about seeing our professional wedding photos after the big day. But we’re also looking forward to seeing the candid and fun shots our guests capture throughout the evening!

To make it extra easy for them to share these pictures with us, Stephen and I recently created a new Shutterfly account specifically for guests’ wedding photos. By taking this route, even if our guests aren’t already members of Shutterfly, they won’t be forced to create accounts of their own. They can simply use the login and password information we provide, and can then upload their pictures as desired.

Another bonus is that anyone who logs in can order prints directly from the site. We even got an offer of 50 free prints just for signing up!

So, how will we get the word out? First, we’ve posted the details on our wedding website. Secondly, at the reception, each guest will find the card seen above at his or her place setting. The instructions are simple, straightforward, and will hopefully ensure a great batch of photos for us to peruse post-honeymoon!

Will you invite your guests to share their photos with you, either through a website or by placing throw-away cameras at their tables?

  2. I love this idea and have been tagging every blog and article I find on it so when the time is here, I can sit down and figure out what to do. How did you decide on Shutterfly? Did you consider any other companies?

  3. Such a great idea! I think we'll send the photo cards out with thank-you notes, just because our place-settings are going to be crowded and I don't want to add another piece of paper to the mix. I can't wait to see some of your guests' shots!

  4. Thanks for the comments, girls! We chose Shutterfly mostly because I’m familiar with the site and have a separate account that I use to store my other photos. I’ve always really liked it, and we also really wanted a site that was free. We thought about Picasa, too, but decided against it since only those who have Google accounts would be able to post pictures.

  5. So great! I love this idea and we used a site called weddingphotoswap.com to share ours. We also created little business cards which I love so much I carry one around in my wallet! Unfortunately, not many of our guests have taken advantage of it yet! As a matter of fact, several posted pics on Facebook instead of the site and there are a lot of family and friends I know that have pictures they took that still have not uploaded them anywhere or shared them with us yet!!! I'm trying not to be pushy but getting irritated and antsy! Hope your guests are faster than mine have been!

  6. I love this idea. Hopefully we will do something similar for ours. Would love to see all the amateur shots too!

  7. Such a good idea. We have created a Flickr site just for the guests to upload pics.

I am going to get moo business cards made with a selection of our wedding pics on 1 side and the info on the other.

Then I'm going to put them inside our thank you cards which I'm in the middle of making just now.

  8. We did something similar for our wedding - but only three people ever uploaded photos. Sad face. Hope you get a better return!
