DIY Wine Corks On Display

When it came to planning our wedding, heaven knows I wasn’t a DIY goddess like some of you fabulous ladies out there. But in our own way, Stephen and I personalized the day and enhanced our theme by adding fun do-it-ourselves touches wherever we thought we might be able to pull them off.

I guess we must have done a pretty good (or at least decent) job, because one of our projects – wine-cork escort-card holders – was recently featured on Lollipops & Paper, a new party-planning and craft blog I love. Check out our step-by-step instructions, and be sure to follow this blog for tons of fun tips and ideas!

If you’re including DIY as part of your wedding, what’s been your favorite project so far?

  1. Great idea for placecards. Amazing DIY!!

  2. The corks turned out great, and I definitely applaud the "less is more" approach when it comes to DIY - I realize now that I bit off more than I can chew :)

  3. The corks turned out fabulous ! Honestly, I didn't know they were DIY, so good job ! :)

  4. So very cool! Congrats on the feature! I haven't got my copy yet, but I am the featured Bride Blogger in Get Married's magazine this week for the Lucky 7 page :)

  5. I had a lot of DIY projects and it honestly made the planning process just a little bit more fun and interactive. I love how the escort card wine corks came out and it was a great idea and really tied into your theme.

I'm not sure if I will continue to blog on Wedzilla. Old habits die hard and I just don't have time to keep up with my blog and learn how to use Wordpress. But I hope you will continue to follow and post comments on my blog :)

  6. We're totally planning on doing this. Too bad drinking all the wine to get the corks is such hard work! ;) Hee hee.

  7. Great feature and it's always good to start projects early!
I think you may know my favorite project was definitely my alencon lace veil!

  8. Oh my goodnes, you know how many DIY projects I took on and i'm so happy I did. I was done with all of them a week and a half before my date. I would have to say by far my favorite has to be my crystal bouquets.

The corks were a really nice touch to your theme.

  9. I think they look fab, must have taken you ages to them all!

I did quite a lot of DIY projects, all the stationery including invites, order of service, placecards, menus, table plan, table names, favours & the guest book!

(Im so behind on all of your recaps after my trip away but I will catch up eventually!)
