Found: Our Perfect Wedding Reception Venue

As a California girl and wine lover, I always pictured myself getting married surrounded by lush grapevines and rolling hills.

It won’t happen for two reasons. First, since we’re getting married in Southern California, there aren’t as many wineries as in other parts of the state. Second, the ones that do exist are way too expensive for us to consider without busting our budget.

But that’s completely OK, since Stephen and I were excited to find the perfect spot this summer for our reception – Los Robles Greens in Thousand Oaks.

What most excites me about this location is that it’s as beautiful as many country clubs in the area, but much more affordable since it’s a public golf site. Also, it features a big indoor ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows that overlook the entire course, plus a large patio and wraparound balcony – letting us celebrate both indoors and out.

Other bonuses include great onsite catering, tons of decor options, and an outdoor cocktail hour, where guests can enjoy watching the bride and groom pose for photos down on the green.

If you’re looking for a classy but not overly posh reception spot, I’d definitely recommend checking out golf clubs and public courses in your area to get a spectacular view with a lot of bang for your buck. I can’t wait for June!
