When The Sun Goes Down…

…the best photos can be found!

While creating our wedding day timeline, it was absolutely vital to both us and our photographer that we set aside time for sunset photos on the grounds of Los Robles Greens. And what a great decision it was.

In the end, this shoot gave us some of the very best photos from the day. It also allowed us to momentarily take a breather from the crazy but fun pace of our reception for some time alone with our photographer, who occasionally stepped back to let us reflect on the day and spend a few moments focusing only on each other.

To show you just what I mean, here’s a big handful of favorites that still make me smile, whether they’re romantic, artsy, or just plain fun.

LESSON LEARNED: If possible, arrange with your photographer to shoot romantic and playful photos of you and the groom as sunset falls. The lighting will be gorgeous, allowing for amazing “shadow” shots, the air will be refreshingly cool, and most importantly, you’ll share some of the best memories of the entire day.

Do you plan to take photos at a special time or at a certain spot on your venue’s property?

  1. These are great! I love the one of you guys walking down the path on the golf course. The first one is cool too.

Since it rained and was cloudy we weren't able to get any sunset shots but we made due with the weather we were given.

  2. Beautiful photos! I love sunset photography - "golden hour" light is truly magical! The sun will probably be setting toward the end of our Hindu ceremony, so I'm not sure that we'll get any sunset photos like you did, but hopefully we'll get some great ceremony shots!

  3. SO pretty! The best lighting is always at sundown or sunrise (when we had our e-pics taken). I am absolutely in LOVE with the third one down. The colors are STUNNING!

  7. So true that the sunset is so great for photos. I am amazed at all the super cool, beautiful, fun, romantic shots you got on your wedding day!

Even at our post wedding shoot there are still poses I wish we would have gotten and fun things we would have done...no matter what, time gets away from you. So you were smart to just put one thing on hold to go take advantage of time for these extra photos!

  10. Love the picture of you looking upward! The colors really popped! We didn't have a specific time but heard we should avoid midday. Morning was great!

  11. Gorgeous time to take photos; they are all lovely.

We didnt really have a specific time just wanted to make sure we got some outside. Since it was snowing 2 days before my wedding I was just glad to get any outside!
