The Man I Married

The man I married is my best friend and partner in all things – the silly, the serious, the life-changing, and the mundane. He is gentle, sincere, thoughtful and genuine, and he looked so handsome and happy on our wedding day.

Some people think that wedding day portraits are all about the bride, but I disagree. Stephen looked amazing, and he did it without a $200 makeup application or a $1,000 gown.

LESSON LEARNED: A good photographer will be sure to capture a few great portrait shots of the groom, but if he or she seems to be forgetting, or if you’d like more, be sure to speak up. After all, it’s your husband’s day, too!

Do you have any favorite wedding day or engagement shots of your guy?

  2. Our photogs did a great job of getting a lot of pictures of just Kristian. Though I wish they would have told him to button his tux jacket in them. His jacket is open which made him look a lot wider than he is.

  4. Awww, very handsome! I agree - groom shots are a must! I love the individual e-pics of my fiance, but he HATES them, haha! He doesn't like being the center of attention - very opposite of me!

  6. That's a really good point-it's the groom's day too! I can't wait to see my fiancé in his tuxedo. I made sure not to be there when he tried it on so it'll be a surprise for me just like my dress is for him.

I also love/hate the fact that they can look like a million bucks without all the fuss we have to go through. Men are so lucky!

  7. I have a photo of Mr B from our wedding that I just adore. How do they look so good with out all the prep? Lucky fellas

  8. We didn't get very many solo shots of Mr Fix It on our wedding day. Our photog truly sucked with that one. But I did like a few of them. Nothing artsy or creative though like yours were. I really have learned to look for more creativity in poses and shot styles when searching for a photog.

  9. Thats one of reasons we got 2 photographers so 1 could be with the girls in the morning then the other with the boys as I wanted to see all they were getting up to.

When we did the portraits later, we got some of me on my own and lots of G too, as well as us both together and I love some of the ones of Graham they took.
