Wedding Day Nail Advice Taken!

Before the wedding, I asked you all for suggestions about what type of manicure I should go with for my big day. Should I go bold with purple? Keep things classic with French tips?

In the end, I just couldn’t say no to what’s tried and true, choosing to have small white tips painted against my own nails.

You can’t really even see my nails in this picture, as you also can’t in any photos other than the super close-up shots of my hands, which I think is the point. As much fun as purple nails would have been, I certainly wouldn’t have wanted them to become a distraction.

And the best part? My manicurist did such a great job, the polish on both my fingers and toes lasted throughout most of my honeymoon week, too!

For your wedding, where are you going bold, and where will you stick with the classics?

  1. I went with the classic french manicure. As much as I love having dark nails in my everyday life I was afraid it would be too trendy and look weird in 30 years.

  2. Thats great that the polish lasted that long! I am doing the same and going for a pale color polish.

  3. Good for you for going with your gut! I think I'll do something in between dark polish and french tips - like maybe a pale pink for my fingers, and a brighter pink for my toes to stand out next to my emerald peep-toes.

I love your wedding day look, and the sash on your gown is beautiful.

  4. Yup, my mani/pedi with the french manicure/tips lasted through our honeymoon too. I was definitely glad I went au naturel. Especially since I had red peep toe shoes on :)

  5. That's great :) I plan to do a light shade of a neutral color. My nails chip so easily the last thing I want is chipped nails :(

  6. I'm all about going neutral - and I agree, crazy nail color can be a distraction!

  7. I'll probably get the french tips or use a neutral pink shade, and something more fun for my toes since my shoes are closed-toed anyway and my toes will only make an appearance if I change into flip flops on the dance floor.

  8. Good choice, I did the same with mine, just went classic with the french.

On my toes I went purple but only because you couldnt see them and I wanted that for my honeymoon!

My nails def didnt last the whole honeymoon since it was 3 weeks long! I did get them done again in the Maldives though!

  11. I love the natural look, so I too went with a (DIY) french mani. I agree with you, a darker or brighter color, while fun, would be a distraction in the pictures!
