Growing up and even throughout college, I lived in a small, two-bedroom apartment with my family, where my sister and I shared a room, a closet and a bathroom. When I moved to DC to work and live on my own, I discovered the absolute freedom and joy that comes with having your own space. Since Stephen also shared a bathroom while growing up and while living with roommates during college, when we considered where we’d live together, having private bathrooms and closets were two big things that topped our lists.
Today, I absolutely love our two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment, where we have the space to be together, yet still do certain things in our own way. Having separate closets and bathrooms is a big help when we both have to get ready to go out at the same time, and it entirely eliminates any spats about organization or cleaning up in these rooms. This way, we’re able to fully share a home and life, but in the way that works best for us.
Do you and your husband or fiancé share a bathroom or closet?

Yup! We share a closet and bathroom! I don't really like it but he does help keep {somewhat} clean :D
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
We don't share a bathroom OR a closet. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWe share a bathroom, but there is no way I would share a closet. It wouldn't even be possible for us with all of my clothes and shoes. I had my own bathroom throughout college, and it was glorious. Not so glorious that it would make me tack on an extra $400 to our rent, though!
ReplyDeletewe share everything!!! haha but we like sharing a bathroom... not so much on the clsoet. We do have his and hers sinks though.
ReplyDeleteWe share a bathroom. Don't really have a choice, but that was never really something I ever even thought about not sharing. If we could have his and her sinks I def. would like it better. But, I like brushing our teeth together, haha. No sharing a closet though..that would just be confusing!
ReplyDeleteWe do share a bathroom but it has two sinks, which I think makes all the difference in the world. And as far as the closet goes, we share that as well, but my stuff takes up about 85% of the space and he's cool with that. Haha!
ReplyDeleteWe have a 2 bed/2 bath condo but share a walk in closet and for the most part share the bathroom in our bedroom. HOWEVER when he has to go #2 I make him use the guest bathroom! haha. The closet in the guest bedroom is where he stores all his man shit for hunting and fishing.
ReplyDeleteWe share both, and I'm pretty miffed about it. We have a 4 bedroom, 3 bath house. He could find his own closet/bathroom! lol
ReplyDeleteWe share a bathroom but not a closet. Sharing the bathroom doesn't really bother me, but it will be better when we move to a place with double sinks!
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy if I had a closet. She has them all! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe have our own closets, its great! I couldnt imagine having to share one. We both have so many things. Sharing the bathroom isn't too bad, its a nice size and we usually don't need to get ready at the same time or just wait if we do. Lucky us!
ReplyDeleteThis post made me laugh.. we're closing on our first home tomorrow actually and moving in slowly throughout the month. We currently share a 2/1 townhome and we're moving into a 2/1 bungalow house. We're very accustomed to sharing 1 bathroom so it's not a big deal to us, and I come from a family of 8 and we had to share 1 bathroom for a while so it doesn't bother me too much. This is our start home so our next house it'd be nice to have a bigger bathroom with his and hers sinks, and a few bathrooms for company and other rooms in the house. Closet space on the other hand... we'll have the second bedroom closet so I can keep some of my clothes in there! haha
ReplyDeleteYes we have to share a bathroom and a closet; we just have a two bedroom / 1 bathroom flat and altho it has two closets, only one is in our room so we have to share.
ReplyDeleteI struggled when we moved in as I had been used to a massive 3 part closet at my parents then had to get used to sharing a 2 part one; as you can imagine my clothes are totally stuffed in!
