If you said that they all prominently feature Stephen and I, you’re right. But you know what else they prominently feature? My bouquet.
I’ll admit that when it came to budgeting for the wedding, flowers were one category in which we decided to be more frugal. But that’s not to say we overlooked them entirely, as I believe floral arrangements can definitely “make or break” a lot of the photos taken throughout the wedding day. Of course, this is never more true than when it comes to the bride’s bouquet.
I first laid eyes upon mine when I arrived at Gardens of the World for our pre-wedding shoot. From the very moment I saw it, I was truly blown away by how beautiful a job Lei-Ann from Happy Flowers had done in crafting the perfect design. Though my classic round arrangement was not huge (a good thing for a petite bride like me!) and cost just $100, Lei-Ann really went above and beyond in making it special, incorporating all the flowers we’d agreed upon and arranging them so flawlessly. I just adored my romantic bouquet, and especially loved the way it enhanced so many of our photos, including some which have now become favorites.
LESSON LEARNED: Though you definitely don’t have to spend a fortune on flowers, do put some serious thought into them, especially your bouquet, since it will be featured in just about every photo you’re in. Don’t have a clue as to what you want? Choose a respected florist, share your vision, and let her bring it to life.

Love the picture of you framed by the bouquets!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your bouquet and all the colors :)
ReplyDeleteLove your bouquet! We have a relatively small flower budget for the size of our wedding, but I agree with you that the right florist can work within any budget.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors in your bouquets. I loved my bouquets, I hired a florist to do those since I knew they would be photographed the most and my MIL did the reception flowers which saved us money.
ReplyDelete1) LOVE your bouquet and I'm so happy to hear that you were a rational bride about it all. Beautiful and it fit the budget!
ReplyDelete2) It enrages me that no one cares about the ethical issues behind out of season flowers. Between flying them in from across the world, to the conditions they're grown in (for the mostly female workers)... it makes me sick that brides are so selfish to not think of anything but themselves! http://genderandtrade.org/gtinformation/164419/164962/165007/kenyan_flower_production/
Beautiful bouquet and fabulous photos highlighting those pretty flowers (and of course you!)
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!! My flowers were very simple. yours are stunning!
ReplyDeleteYour bouquet was definitely gorgeous, and a great price as far as bouquets go too. I still regret my sister forgetting to pick up my toss bouquet that I was going to use in our first look photos--I love the pop of color the flowers added to your photos.
ReplyDeleteAs a bride with a small floral budget, this is all good advice. And, the photo with the groomsmen is so fun! Love the look on the face of the guy to the left of Stephen.
ReplyDeleteI love your bouquet and you know I love the price. Check your email I sent you something.
ReplyDeleteGreat tip on putting thought into the flowers and floral arrangements. I agree that you dont need to spend a lot to get something nice. Def shop around and ask around. Love your flowers!
