Under The Veil

When I first became engaged, I briefly considered wearing a flower in my hair on the wedding day, or just sticking with a headband or tiara on its own. But from the moment I tried on a veil while wedding gown shopping, I was sold.

Not only was my veil lovely, with its classic fingertip length and crystal-studded embroidery, but it truly added to the experience of being a bride, as it completed my look and made me feel extra special.

And the best part? Getting to take fun pictures like these.

Did you or do you plan to wear a veil on your wedding day? If so, which style? If not, do you plan to wear another hair accessory instead?

  1. I wore a chapel length veil, I've always loved really long veils. Mine didn't turn out exactly how I pictured but I still liked it. Unfortunately I didn't get many pictures in it because we put it on right before I walked down the aisle and took it off after the formal group shots. I didn't want to wear it outside in the rain so I didn't really get any cute veil shots like that which I'm bummed about now looking back. Oh well.

Love your shots, those are really cute!

  2. Beautiful shots! I'll be wearing a visor-style birdcage veil, so I don't think my fiance will be able to get "under the veil" with me!

  3. LOVE those pictures! I purchased the chapel length veil that coordinates with my dress and can't wait to wear it. I'll also have some hair flowers for after the ceremony.

  4. I'm wearing a hair flower and have been debating back and forth about the veil. I love the pictures of them--including yours! But I'm still not sure I want one. My first dress fitting is this weekend. I'm going to try on veils one last time and make a final decision!

  5. Those are so pretty. My borrowed veil was not super long and I only wore it for the ceremony on wedding day so we did not get any photos like these. But I still loved the one and only shot I have of just me under my veil :)

  6. Awww, your under veil shots are so adorable! I never even thought to do that, I was more concerned about my veil tugging on my hairstyle when the hubs put his arm around me in pictures!

  8. I thought I'd go a birdcage veil. But then my mother offered me hers and I was sold.

You really only get to wear a veil once. Love yours!

  9. I was sold once I put the veil on. I bought a fingertip length veil but will take it off during the dinner and have flower in my hair too. Best of both worlds :)

  10. I knew way from the beginning of dress shopping I wanted a long long veil, and for it not to go over my face.

So along with my tiara I had a cathedral length veil. I wore it above my up do hair at the back then removed the veil at dinner and just had the tiara for the evening.
