With all the fresh guestbook alternatives out there these days, Stephen and I decided to jump on the bandwagon with a couple fun ideas of our own.
First, at the rehearsal dinner, we’ll ask our family members and wedding party to sign two bottles of our favorite champagne, which we’ll later use to toast each other, first on our honeymoon cruise, and then one year later, as we celebrate our first year of marriage.

On the big day, we’ll use our version of the “photo guestbook” – in this case a large photo mat that includes a picture of us and surrounding space for guests to sign. After the celebration, we’ll display it at home as a reminder of our guests’ kind wishes.
Like that idea? Check out Michael’s and other local craft or wedding accessory stores to find the right size and design for you. We really lucked out by paying only $10 for a 16-by-20-inch photo mat, and $7 for a great frame that was on clearance!
Got something else in mind? Have fun and let your imagination run wild, since the possibilities are practically endless! Which ideas are you considering?

Fun! I am struggling with the guest book thing. We will be having 400 guests, so I worry there will not be enough room on the photo mat for us. I love the idea, though. Good choice!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the idea of signing wine or champagne bottles...too bad Mr Fix It and I don't drink :)
ReplyDeleteI really love both of those ideas!!! I love the guest book thing alot actually.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo mat idea!
ReplyDeleteWe might be doing rocks (that we'll put in a nice vase/container and display) for our guestbook.

I love the guest signing the champagne bottles. I was thinking of doing this for our wedding in May instead of a guestbook. Did you find a pen that will write on the bottles? I saw one online but I'd rather get it at michaels or ac moore.
ReplyDeleteI'll be matting one of our engagement pictures and going that route as well! I love when I walk into someone's home and see a print with signatures from their wedding on the wall; I always thought it was such a sweet idea. :)
ReplyDeleteThe champagne bottle idea is cool and inventive!
That frame with the matt is such a good idea. Wish we had done it.
